Precancerous Diseases of the Breast
Although they are benign, they are structures that have the possibility of becoming cancerous because they contain an excessive increase in cells.
- Sclerosing Adenosis: It is a disease that manifests itself with sensitivity that develops as a result of hardening along with an increase in breast support tissue. Diagnosis is usually made surgically. It is generally a condition that occurs when the fibrocystic structure cannot be controlled and progresses.
- Hyperplasias: They can be without or with atypia. It refers to excessive cell increase in the milk ducts. It may occur when the tissue is affected by hormones. In examinations, they are observed as irregular areas. Follow-up is required. In cases where antipiasis is detected, follow-up is necessary. In cases where antipysitis is detected, the affected lobe is completely removed. And the risk of developing cancer in the future is reduced.
- Insitu Lobular Carcinoma: It arises from a blind ductal epithelium that terminates in a lobule. Although it was considered less risky in previous years, it is now thought to increase the risk of cancer for both the breast where it is detected and the opposite breast. Both removal of the diseased part and close follow-up are recommended.
- Fibroadenomatosis and Papillomatosis: Fibroadenomas and papillomas are located like multiple grape bunches in one lobe. The chance of degeneration is higher than structures detected singly. It is recommended to monitor and surgically remove it when an increase is detected.
