When we start a diet, although there is a general way of applying that diet, all diets are personal. A person's habits are determined in line with his needs. Of course, the main goal is a healthy life, although losing weight seems to be the primary goal in diets. Any food we take into the body is digested by our body. Although the entire digestion process continues in our intestines, every food consumed is actually processed, broken down, chemically changed and absorbed by the bacteria in our mouth and intestines.

In order for the body to function balancedly, it is necessary to observe the nutrition style that was maintained until the 1960s. In the 1960s, it was observed that people consumed less acidic foods such as natural products and sugar, as well as processed products and animal foods. While 60-80% of a healthy diet should be alkaline food and 20-40% acidic food, today this ratio has changed in favor of acidic food and the ratio has reversed. Today, some studies comment that the excessive use of animal foods, the increase in refined carbohydrates (flour-sugar), processed oils, processed meats and packaged foods are the main reasons for the increase in cancer, autism, obesity and auto immune diseases in the world.

Of course, although a food has a different appearance when we buy it from outside, its function after being broken down by the body and bacteria is more important. The chemical response of a food that actually appears alkaline to you after it is broken down is important. If this response is acidic in nature, it initiates inflammatory responses in the body. All problems in the body, including cancer, allergies, autoimmune problems (hashimoto's, rheumatism), diabetes, are triggered by inflammation. Therefore, in order to stay healthy and not age prematurely, today's health experts recommend that you follow the Mediterranean Diet and alkaline diet. Can we maintain our alkaline and acid ratio, which should be 20% to 80%? Unfortunately, we cannot preserve it under today's nutritional conditions.
